HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Let me start by saying, I DID NOT MAKE any New Year Resolutions.  If I have learned nothing else from these past 2 years, I learned to take each day as I am given it, do my best with that day, give my thanks to God each night when I am ready to go to sleep and arise the next morning to begin again.   I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to begin another year of quilting, sewing, embroidering and crafting.  Let's get started and see how the Pine Tree can be part of your plans.

Janet Henshawe    Long Arm Quilting

Janet will maintain her same schedule for 2022.  She will be at the shop the 2nd Tuesday of each month to pick up and drop off your quilts.
Janet will be at the shop on Tuesday, January 11, 2022  from 11 to 12.  Remember, she will contact you if she is brining your finished quilt on Tuesday.

Jeff's Sewing Station

Jeff will also maintain his schedule throughout 2022.  Jeff will be picking up and dropping off machines the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.  I do ask that you bring in your machines prior to the scheduled Friday, because Jeff does not do any repair on-site and I  usually do not know what time he will arrive.   Next date for Jeff will be Friday, January 21.

Let's see what is new at the shop!

I have been so pleased to have some web-site orders.  This past week we sent fabric and books to Idaho, Florida, and South Carolina!

New Pattern Designer

I would like tell you about my new Jaftex Representative Susan Cook.  Susan replaces Lisa Sauer who retired and Jaftex covers Blank Quilting, Free Spirit, Studio E and Henry Glass.  Susan is also a pattern designer and gifted me with one of her paper piecing patterns called "Christmas Angel".  This past week I worked with the pattern and loved it.  I really do like to paper piece, but each time I begin a new project I have to get my mind wrapped around what I am doing.  The results of my Christmas Angel is "Suzy the Snowflake Angel" made with fabric from Studio E called Winterwood.

Susan's Facebook page is Friends of Lakespur Lane.  I know you can order a PDF pattern directly from her, but I will be ordering the pattern to have at the shop.  I will plan a paper piecing class for this angel.

The wall hanging is 17" x 19".  Suzy has been quilted, her binding is on and awaiting my hand stitching and of course I little bling will be added.  Stop in the shop to get a closer look.  And now I can't stop...I see patriotic angels, teacher angels, dog lover's angels...OH MY!

NEW FABRIC

Fabric shipments are still arriving.  Fabric I was promised in the fall is arriving now and some I was promised before Christmas are now postponed to later in January and February.

Northcott

This line is called "Tenderwood".  I has a sweet panel depicting 6 woodland animals.  All the fabric in this line is $11.49 per yard.  I think you will like the pattern for this quilt also.  It is $12.00 and is the perfect size for a baby quilt or a toddler's quilt.  Let's look at what I have...

Stop in an see the sample quilt!  All the fabric is available on my web-site.

NEW KIT

I was suppose to receive this kit in September, but received in before Christmas.  This is a Riley Blake Kit called "The Quilt Trail" Quilt Kit

The kit contains fabric for the quilt top and binding.  It is packaged in a really pretty keepsake box.

The kit is $85.99  Approximate finished size is 61.5" x 71"

I still have some things to tell you about, but will wait until next week.

I always like to leave you with a story or an inspirational quote about quilting; I hope you like this one.

A duck, a skunk and a deer went out to dinner at a restaurant one night.  When it came time to pay, the skunk didn't have a scent, the deer didn't have a buck, so they put the meal on the duck's bill.

OK, OK I can hear the groans.  LOL

See you soon.
Have a "Sew-Sew" week.

Linda
