Today is a good day to stay in the air conditioning!  But no matter how warm it is I still want a good cup of coffee.  Just another thing I take from my mother.

I had a great week!  I first want to thank the Chartiers-Houston Public Library for inviting me to speak about quilts.  We had to wait one year to fulfill my invitation because of COVID.  I had a really nice group of ladies and we talked about some of the Facts vs Myths about quilts.  Of course, the best time was when they shared their own history about quilting.  Thank you, Leslie and Lori for inviting me to speak.

We were busy at the shop this week too.  Karen was spending time with her grandchildren so Trudy A. and Randy came in to help me.  We got new fabric inventoried and put some fabric on clearance.  We had several taking advantage of the Christmas in July Sale too.

Looking forward to another busy week, so let's see what is new at the Pine Tree...

Jeff's Sewing Station

I just got off the phone with Jeff.  July was a crazy month for him because of moving, but he will be back on schedule in August and we shall resume the first and third Friday of each month.  That means the next time Jeff will be at the Pine Tree will be Friday, August 6.  If you are going on vacation, this would be a great time to send your machine to Jeff.  Remember to have your machine to the shop by Thursday, August 5.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY SALE CONTINUES

I still have a nice selection of Christmas fabric for 15%, 20%, 25% and 40% off!!!

Sale ends Saturday, July 31.

This fabric will not be on sale again this year.

BOOK SIGNING

This is truly a special event for the quilt shop.  We are pleased to host a book signing for Susan Williams Aul and Dianne Closser Toothman on Friday, July 30 from 10-2.  These ladies have written an delightful children's book entitled The Christmas Tea about two mice friends Suzy and Maggie.  Maggie invites Suzy to a Christmas tea.  Maggie will bake the cookies and Suzy will make a special gift for Maggie but she must go to her local quilt shop.  And guess where Suzy goes....the Pine Tree Quilt Shop of course!!  The book includes activities and cookie recipes.  Stop in on Friday to have your book signed by Dianne and Susan and enjoy light refreshments.  You can purchase your book at the shop.  The book is illustrated by Dianne's sister Marlys Closser Greenhalgh.

This will make a great Christmas gift.

Changes to the Web-site

Have you heard the expression...you may have bitten off more than you can chew?   I may have done that when I thought I wanted to make the web-site a little easier for you to navigate and find things.  Here are some of the changes so far.  When you have some time go to the web-site and click on SHOP.  The first major change I have made is under NEW ARRIVALS.  The products in this section are truly new to the store in July.  I plan to keep updating this section in a timely manner.  The next change you will see is that I have added CHRISTMAS, HALLOWEEN and CLEARANCE.  I thought that if you were looking for Christmas fabric it would be easier to see it all together and not have to scroll through all the fabric pages.
I still have to add fabric to the Halloween section.  Are there any other sections you would like to see?  I hope to hear from some of you loyal newsletter readers so I can make the web-page more user friendly.

NEW PRODUCT

KALEIDOSCOPE

New pattern and fabric from Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet Co.
The focus of this book and fabric is color and includes some of Lori Holt's favorite colors.  The fabric collection is Bee Cross Stitch for Riley Blake Designs.  The book includes quilt sizes Crib, Lap, and Queen; pillow sizes in 12", 18" and 24" square and a Kaleidoscope cross-stitch pattern in 8 color way patterns.  The book is $ 24.95.

Bee Cross Stitch Fabric for Riley Blake Design

To make the quilts in this book you need fat quarters.  I purchased three (3) fat quarter bundles of the Bee Cross Stitch fabric.  There are 35 pieces in the bundle.  All of the colors you need for the quilts are included plus 10 fat quarters that are the neutral background.  My intention was to break up the FQ bundles and sell the fat quarters individually, but I think that after you see the bundle you will want the whole collection.
The FQ Bundle is $113.40 and the individual FQ's $3.25.

Bee Cross Stitch Pebble

This is the yardage I selected for the background of the quilt.  It is $10.99 per yard.

Well, that is enough for this week.  Stop in and see the Christmas fabric and don't forget the book signing on Friday.

Have a "Sew-Sew" week,

Linda
