Good Monday Morning!  We have certainly enjoyed seeing the green grass again.  Let's see what is going on at the shop.

DATES TO REMEMBER!

Janet Henshawe will be here on Tuesday, March 9 from 11 to noon to pick up/ deliver your quilts.  Do you have some quilts that need to be long-armed?

Jeff of Jeff's Sewing Station will be here to pick-up/ deliver your sewing machines that need a spa day on Friday, March 5 and Friday, March 19.  Remember to bring those machines to me before Friday because Jeff does not have a set time of arrival.

FREE PATTERN OF THE MONTH

I cannot believe that February flew by.  I hope you enjoyed the French Bread table runner pattern.  This month's pattern is called "Nine-Month Nine-Patch".  It makes a 40" x 40" baby quilt that will be a great way to use some of your stash!  I selected this pattern for a couple of reasons.  First I need a baby quilt for a friend's granddaughter who will be born at the end of the month.  Second, can you can use stash for the simple 9-Patch blocks and this little quilt is set on point.  Someone told me that quilts set on-point are more appealing to the eye.  If you are like me, you have avoided on-point quilts because you don't know what size to cut the side triangles and corner triangles.  I now have a math solution to determine those triangles and it works every time.  I will begin sharing that math formula with you this week and finish it next week.

This is definitely a weekend project, I just need to add my borders on Tuesday and then it will be displayed at the shop.  I will post pictures on Facebook by Wednesday.  And remember you don't have to stick the the baby size quilt as you can make this bigger.

We would love to see you at the shop, but I understand that some of you are not getting out so I shall continue to email you the pattern.  Just use the email at the top of the newsletter.

NEW FABRIC

Did you know that in France the rooster is a symbol of vigilance who awakens at dawn to alert people to start a new day?  In fact the symbol of the rooster is used to decorate church bells and watch towers.  Of course you knew that if you have lived on a farm!  LOL

This new fabric from Studio E was designed by Jennifer Brinley and is called "Le Poulet" (make sure you say that with a French accent).  I have the panel with these beautiful roosters and three (3) bolts of fabric.  We are using the free pattern on Studio E's web-site to make the table runner and placemats.

The panel is $10.99

Each of the following fabrics are $10.99 per yard

SOMETHING NEW IS COMING TO THE SHOP!

This is something I am sure you will like.  I will now be carrying products from All Blanks.  If  you machine embroidery you may be familiar with this company.  These items are also good for those of you (me included) who love to hand embroider or applique.  To begin my order, I have purchased kitchen towels that will make some great gifts or a way to brighten your own kitchen.  They should be at the shop this week and the prices will run from $3.99 to $5.99.  Next week I shall post the pictures of the towels.

MATH FORMULA

You shall need the following information to help you with the Math Formula for on-point side triangles and corner triangles.  I will give the rest of the math next week.  Write these down or make sure you save the email.  All Newletters are archived on the web-site

1/8 yard = 4 1/2" = .125
1/4 yard = 9" = .25
3/8 yard = 13 1/2 " = .375
1/2 yard = 18" = .50
5/8 yard = 22 1/2" = .625
3/4 yard = 27" = .75
7/8 yard = 31 1/2 " = .875
1 yard = 36" = 1

Have a "Piece-ful" Week.

Linda
