News From The Pine Tree

Happy New Year!

New Year - New Ideas from the Pine Tree!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  We spent a quiet time at home and watched the snow on Christmas Day.

Shop Hours

Tuesday, December 29  10-3
Wednesday, December 30  10-3
Thursday, December 31  10-3
Friday, January 1 through Monday, January 4 CLOSED

Now it is time to welcome in the New Year.  Karen and I were just talking about the new TV ad from Match where Satan is a match for 2020.  Pretty much sums it up!  LOL

Are you making any resolutions?  I don't think I am this year when it comes to my personal life, but I am going to add and make some changes to the quilt shop.  Some of the plans are just in the early stages and I shall let you know as we go along.

Bargain Bathroom

One new idea is that we are adding a fabric flat fold section to the "Bargain Bathroom" .  I have selected some fabrics that have spent enough time with me and need to have a new home.  These flat folds are $4.99 per yard!  Minimum purchase is 1 yard and there are no additional discounts with these fabrics.  We will be adding to them as we can because we need to make room for some of the new fabric that will be coming into the shop.

Mystery Quilt

I am now working on the details for a Mystery Quilt.  I don't expect to have this ready until February and even though there are 12 blocks in the quilt, I shall be releasing a new block each week.  Since we cannot distance in the shop, I think I will try using ZOOM with those of you who would like to see what we are doing.  As you can see this will take planning.

Christmas Fabric

Because of my illness with COVID 19 I was not able to bring in all my Christmas fabric.  This is what I have decided...the Christmas fabric that I have at the shop will be on sell December 29 through January 6 at 25% off.  Then in JULY, I will have one great Christmas in July Sale.

Coupons

I will let you know in the next couple of weeks about monthly coupons and how you can access them through the website.

I probably have told you this already about my Grandmother Savannah.  She always like to make something new on New Year's Day.  Whatever project she selected not only was it started on New Year's Day but it had to be completed on that day.  She never mended on January 1 because she said she would be mending all year.  Mother and I carried that tradition on for years and I will select a project on Friday that I can begin and finish.

Now my other grandmother, my father's mother for whom I am named, especially disliked New Year's Eve.  Grandmother Linda Jane passed away before I was born, but my mother told me that she always believed that at midnight the world would end.  So she would have her children and their spouses come to the house on New Year's Eve so they all could be together.  As soon as the clock struck midnight and the world did not come to an end, she would say, "OK it is time you all went home."

Just some memories to share.

Happy New Year, friends.

Linda
