Hello Friends,

It was so good to reopen the quilt shop last Thursday after being closed  for over two weeks!  I was at home recovering from COVID-19.  I am sure you are as surprised as I was when the doctor gave me the diagnosis.  I had started with cold/ flu like symptoms on Friday before the Sunday I was diagnosed.  When I awakened on Sunday, I knew I didn't feel like going to church but I told myself that I didn't want to wait to go to the doctor.  So I went to Med Express and after a two hour wait I was tested for both the flu and COVID.  As I sat there I had time to think "This is just a bad cold.  I couldn't have the virus because I had worn my mask, we had taken all the precautions at the shop and I didn't know anyone else in my life who had the virus."  So when the doctor told me I didn't have the flu but I did have COVID-19, I said, "But doctor I have been so careful."  I am sure he had heard this before, but he said, " This virus is everywhere."  He told me I needed to quarantine for 14 days, gave me a prescription for a cough suppressant and told me if my symptoms worsened I should go to the hospital.  Over the next few days I had a low grade temperature, a nagging hacking cough, body aches, a loss of energy and eventually lost my taste and smell.  Now at the end of the quarantine I still have some of the cough, still no taste or smell and my energy level remains low.

There were blessing along the way.  Karen was tested 3 times and tested negative each time; Connie was tested 2 times and tested negative each time.  I am sure I let my guard down.  I had been to the store and the drug store that week and I just didn't take the precautions to use my hand sanitizer after getting in the car.  Lesson learned.

We are taking extra, extra precautions at the shop.  You are welcome to come to the shop to make your purchases.  We continue to take orders from the web-site that we can either mail to you or get your order ready for curb side pick up.  If you would like, you may contact me and schedule a time to come in to the shop.  At this time I am closing my restroom to my customers.

So now let's see what is new at the shop!

Janet will be at the shop tomorrow, December 8 to pick up and drop off quilts to be long-armed.  This will be her last visit in 2020!

Here is a new gadget!  I really like this one better than I thought.  The top picture shows the Iron EZ.  This is a holder that clips to your ironing board that will hold a spray bottle or a misting bottle.  I know you have been like me and knocked over that Best Press bottle more than once.  I attached my Iron EZ on the back of my ironing board and filled my misting bottle.  The clip fits tightly to the ironing board. The next time I will fill it with my Best Press.    I have two (2) products.  The Iron EZ holder and misting bottle is $25.99 and the misting bottle alone is $12.99.

Do you need some last minute Christmas gifts?  You might like these machine embroidery mug rugs from Kimberbell.  All projects are In The Hoop.  I made the one with the cardinal on it and was able to complete the project in under 1 hour.  Make one of these, add a nice mug with tea, coffee or hot chocolate and you have a great gift.  These are $29.95 each.  Stop in and see my sample.

Now I shall close for this Monday.  It feels great getting back in the habit of getting a newsletter out to you each Monday.  Next Monday I shall have details on Jeff's schedule change for the January.  I will also have information on Tula Pink's Linework fabric.  Karen is working on a quilt using the fabric I received last week.

Just one last note.  I want to thank all of you for supporting my little quilt shop during these trying times.  I want to thank all of you who either texted me or sent cards during my quarantine.  Thank you for continuing to hold us in your prayers and we continue to hold you in ours.

Until next Monday have a SEW SEW Week.

Linda
