Dear Friends, I hope this newsletter finds you well. All of us at the Pine Tree are well and ready to get back to the shop. I shall send you a newsletter by the end of the week to let you know how I am going to do everything to make things safe for all of us at the shop, but....
There is something I am very excited about doing again this year. Last year I took a year away from the Southwester PA Quilt Shop Hop. This enabled me to travel to visit friends in Connecticut and go to Gettysburg with my godsons. But I AM BACK WITH THIS GROUP FOR 2020.
Our theme this year is QUILTING IS FOR EVERYONE!
DATES: Friday, June 19 to Saturday, June 27, 2020
TIMES: Friday and Saturday's 10 am to 8 pm
Monday through Thursday 10 am to 5 pm
11 Participating Shops in Southwestern PA
Sampler Quilt Pattern--Block available with your "Quilt Passport"
PRIZES AND DEMONSTRATIONS AND A "GOODY" BAG
from each shop.
This year you have MORE DATES to SHOP!. Notice the dates, ladies. Instead of just a few dates at the end of the week, we shall be starting on a Friday and running all the next week to the next Saturday. I really like this because it will give you more time at each shop to enjoy the demonstrations and really look at the new fabric, notions, patterns and books.
Now is the time to get your 2020 PASSPORT!
KICK-OFF DAY THURSDAY, MAY 14 from 10 am to 5 pm
On Thursday you will receive your passport and your first block pattern for your sampler quilt!
Now, here come the changes. Because of the Stay Home order the following change is in effect: You do not have to come into the shop to purchase a "passport". YOU MAY CALL THE SHOP TO RESERVE YOUR PASSPORT! You may then select whether you would like to pick up your passport at the curbside or if you would like me to mail it to you! I am also going to make the "Passport" available for on-line purchase.
Plans at the Pine Tree
On Thursday at 10 a.m. I shall be at the shop to take your orders via phone, email, personal message on Facebook or by text if you have my personal phone number. At that time we shall make arrangements for pick-up or mail and payment. You will receive your passport and pattern and be in a drawing for 1 of 4 $25.00 GIFT CERTIFICATES (One Sheetz, one VIsa and 2 Pine Tree) To be eligible for the certificates you must buy your passport on Thursday, May 14!
Now I am sure you are asking yourself, Why should I buy a passport when things during COVID-19 are so uncertain. Here are some of the advantages of this $5.00 purchase.
First, you will be helping your local quilt shops. Selling the passports is one of the ways we can plan for the upcoming shop hop. Each shop gets to keep the money from the purchases of the passport from their shop.
Second, even though you may not be planning to do the shop hop now, your will have your passport in hand in case you change your mind. You know that without the passport you cannot get the pattern for the sampler quilt, goody bag or be entered in the prize drawing. (Of course, we will have passports available the days of the hop.)
Third, with your $5.00 purchase you will have the addresses, phone numbers, and web-site addresses of 11 shops in the southwestern PA area that you can travel to later. I have checked and most of us offer on-line shopping and I know that all of us offer curbside pickup and mail order services!
And last for my shop your $5.00 purchase on Thursday, May 14 will give you a chance to win one of the four gift certificates!
If you would like to shop on-line please do the following: Go to www.ptquiltshop.com, click on SHOP, click on GIFTS and add to your cart. Now this is very important, when you check out make sure that you check you will pick up at the shop. If you don't the system will automatically charge you a shipping fee! Don't worry, I will have the information to mail your passport to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you on Thursday!
Changes had been made before the Stay Home order came down and then those changes had changes, but we are all hoping that we are now settled. I shall keep you posted.
PS Not sure why the photo is sideways! Seems appropriate for the times, doesn't it.
