Spring is Here!

What a great Diva Frame Wallet Class we had on Saturday, March 16.  Everyone finished their wallet and are now making plans to make more.  These will make great gifts.  Kits for the Diva Wallet will be available soon on the web-site.

Karen and I took a road trip to Cumberland, Maryland on Monday, March 18.  The ladies of the Schoolhouse Quilt Guild invited me to teach a class. These ladies decided to make the Diva Frame Wallet too.  We met new friends and got to visit with some friends.  A great day with these ladies.  And...they all went home with a finished wallet!!

The Stonehenge Solstice Block Party is off to a great start.  My sample block is finished, the pattern is written and packaged, and the fabric for the block is kitted.  You may see my block by logging on to the Northcott web-site and going to the "Resources" section.  From there you will find the information about the Solstice Block Party and see the shops in Pennsylvania that are participating.  Remember if you see a block from another state, you may order the block from the shop.  I have already sent blocks to Minnesota and Massachusetts!

I want to thank all of you for your kind words about the web-site.  Did you know that you can place an order through the web-site and then pick it up at the shop?  That is what Randy did to see how it worked.  My friend Franny signed up for the Diva Frame Wallet class on-line and then came to the shop to purchase her supplies for the class.  Yesterday, Diane came in to purchase backing for her quilt because she had received her birthday coupon via email.  Sew Easy!

New Class
The Beginner's Beginning to Paper Piecing

At the end of last year Linda Tomago taught a paper piecing class.  Linda used a placemat pattern by Judy Niemeyer.  The results were beautiful but the pattern and the process may have been a little daunting.

So before I invite Linda to return for another class with these beautiful paper pieced patterns, I have decided to give you a "Beginner's Beginning to Paper Piecing" class.

I selected a Carol Doak pattern.  When I saw this I thought of a spring crocus.  You will be making 6 - 6" blocks and I will have finishing techniques for a table topper, a table runner and/or placemat for you.

This is a short turn around time for this class because my regular April class would be on the Saturday before Easter.   The class will be from 10 - 3 on Saturday, April 6 at the Rogersville UMC Fellowship Hall.  The cost of the class is $15.00 and will include instruction, paper patterns and materials to make the blocks.  Extra costs for the class will be the fabric to finish your blocks.  I am offering the blocks in purple/lilac (like the picture), pink, yellow and a blue. Oh, and maybe a red would be pretty. Stop by the shop to see how we are finishing the blocks.
Go to the web-site for the additional details of the class.
